History/Folklore: Rose has been a long time herb associated with love and beauty. It is known as the "King of Flowers" and is associated with the Egyptian Goddess Isis and the Greco/Roman Goddess Aphrodite/Venus.
The term 'sub rosa', "under the rose" comes from the practice of setting a wild rose outside the door when there were private discussions or matters happening. This practice was so common, that roses would be plastered on the ceilings and walls of rooms where discussions like these would commonly happen.
The Red Rose petals are thought to be slightly more warming than their pink variety.
