History/Folklore: This herb has been promoted by the American Cancer Society as a treatment to prevent cancer causing tumors to develop. It has been used as a counter for nausea and vomiting due to chemotherapy after the Mayo Clinic reported there is evidence in it being effective. This herb is safe to take during chemotherapy as a safe way to calm the stomach during treatments, since it has not been shown to interact with any of the chemotherapy drugs.
