History/Folklore: Mugwort has been used for medicinal and spiritual uses all around the world. The name of the plant comes from the Goddess Artemis. It was popular amongst wet nurses to wean babies from breast feeding. It was also believed to bring prophetic dreams when drank before bed.
In Ancient Greeks, Egyptians, and Chinese would burn it in a form called Moxa to rid the body of evil spirits. The practice is still done today, and many benefits have been found from its use, and is no longer just used spiritually.
