History/Folklore: Its name comes from its ability to treat many female disorders. Ancient China used it as a form of Female Contraceptive. While in Greece, it was used to calm women of anxiety. It's common name "Lion's Ear" comes from the shape of the leaves, and also the ability to tonify the Heart, thus making it strong and brave like a lion.
