Latin Name: Filipendula ulmaria

History/Folklore: Meadowsweet has a long history of being used medicinally, and ceremonially. Cremated remains from three people from the Bronze Age was found to have this herb in the ashes. It has a common name of "Bridewort" as it was thrown across the church floors for festivals and weddings, and even was placed within the bridal garlands.
The Druids considered this herb one of the three most important herbs, along with vervain and water-mint. It was used as a tribute when placed on burial sites and commonly used during ceremonies or at sacred sites.
