History/Folklore: The name of this herb, actually comes from Greek words meaning "Horse" (Equus) and "tail" (Seta). This is due to the plant's branches somewhat looking like a horses tail when they grow upright in a bundle. Though it is a short herb now, going up to the knees and a little taller, over 200 Millenia ago, the plant was taller and resembled a tree.
