History/Folklore: Once a staple herb, grown in every yard, then replaced with ornamental grasses, this herb is a necessity for every apothecary. This herb is high in potassium and vitamin A. With the mix of its Sodium levels with the potassium it acts as a great electrolyte.

Historically, it has been used for anything from psychic abilities, food, medicine, drinks and more.

It as first recorded in during the 7th C in China in the Tang Materia Medica.


Amazing as a coffee substitute, especially with roasted or regular Chicory Root.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), when an herb is roasted it is able to reach to the Blood level easier/better. If wanting to use the herb for any of its Blood benefits, roasted is the way to go.

Key Constituents: Bitter crystalline compound Taraxacin. Polysaccharides, Polyphenols, Chicoric acid, Chlorogenic acid, Calcium, Manganese, Iron, Copper, Choline, Boron, Silicon and Magnesium. Rich in Folic Acid, Riboflavin, Pyridoxine, Niacin, Vitamins E, K, and C, Fresh dandelion contains about 338% of daily-recommended Vitamin A and is an unusually high source of Potassium. The roots also contain Inulin (not insulin!) and Levulin.


Uses: This herb is known to help with detoxing the Blood and Liver, loss of appetite, digestive disorders, adrenal fatigue, eczema/psoriasis, Bladder stones, UTIs, acne, blood sugar regulation, high blood pressure, joint/muscle pains, tones skin, aids eyesight.
