History/Folklore: This is an herb with many stories behind its name and benefits.
There was a legend once said where Archangel Michael visited a monk in the 14th Century and taught him the curative properties of this herb to help during the plague. It was also believed to be under the protection of Archangel Michael and that is why it blooms of the Day Of Michael the Archangel, May 8th.
It is believed to ward off evil, and was commonly worn around the neck during the Middle Ages.
This herb is supposedly a connection between the Heavens and Earth, and therefore has many benefits believed to aid those suffering with spiritual disorders, such as: feeling lost, not able to pray. feeling a disconnection from the rest of the world, cut off from the spiritual world, depression, and so forth.
